When we formed the Jane Brook Community Association in 2010, we aimed to organise some community events, facilitate infrastructure projects and liaise with Government on certain matters of relevance. In addition to these goals, we also committed to planting a few trees and shrubs along the Foreshore Reserve and within our suburb.
In the first year, we planted a few thousand seedlings, which grew to 10,000 the next year. Now, 14 years later, we have surpassed 150,000 seedlings planted along the Foreshore Reserve and in our parks. We have received over $300,000 in direct grants and developer contributions, along with continued financial support from the City of Swan.
I have attached two photos that show the improvement in canopy density from 2010 to February 2024. Many people have contributed their time and energy over the years to create a lasting difference for our current residents and a legacy for future generations. And we’re not finished yet!
